The Mercedes-Benz GLE 450 is a midsize luxury SUV by Mercedes-Benz. It is part of the GLE class introduced by the luxury automaker in 1997. The GLE class was formerly known as the Mercedes-Benz M-class. Alongside the GLE 350, the GLE 450 was introduced during the 2018 Paris Motor Show.
The GLE 450 features a 3.0-liter, turbocharged I6 engine, producing 362 hp and 369 pound-feet of torque. Like the GLE 350, the GLE 450 is a hybrid Mercedes vehicle. It has a 48-volt electric system with an integrated starter motor. It also features Active Body Control (ABC), Mercedes-Benz’s proprietary hydropneumatic suspension system. With ABC, a computer detects body movement from sensors located throughout your Mercedes. In the S-class, as many as 13 sensors monitor the vehicle’s body movement. This suspension system feature virtually eliminates body roll during cornering, braking, and accelerating.
With the 2024 GLE 450, maximum output from the 3.0-liter intercooled turbo engine has improved to 375 hp. If you choose the plug-in hybrid variant, the GLE 450e, power further improves to 381 hp with its intercooled turbo I4. Standard inclusions of the GLE 450 are a 12.3-inch touchscreen powered by MBUX, an 8-speaker sound system, heated power front seats, a Nappa leather steering wheel, and day-night auto dimming rearview mirror.
